This week, Caridad Center proudly joins in the nationwide celebration of National Community Health Worker (CHW) Awareness Week, honoring the exceptional contributions of our dedicated Community Health Workers (CHWs). These remarkable women serve as the heart and soul of our community, providing vital support to ensure the health and well-being of those most in need.
To express our deep gratitude, Caridad Center hosted a special appreciation dinner this week, where Laura Kallus, CEO of Caridad Center, shared a powerful message of thanks:
“We are here tonight to honor and thank each and every one of you for all you do. Your dedication, compassion, and tireless efforts are the heart of our mission, and you make a profound impact on the lives of those we serve. These accomplishments are a testament to your commitment and the difference you are making every day. Thank you for being the backbone of our community’s health and well-being.“
The evening was a heartfelt tribute to the CHWs who work on the front lines, ensuring that families in underserved communities have access to essential healthcare, education, and resources. Through their passion and commitment, these healthcare heroes have built strong, trusting relationships with the community, empowering individuals and families to lead healthier lives.
CHWs at Caridad Center provide a wide range of services, from connecting patients with healthcare providers to offering guidance on health education and preventive care. They play a critical role in addressing social determinants of health, advocating for their patients, and providing compassionate care in the face of growing challenges.
“Our CHWs are truly the backbone of Caridad Center’s efforts to improve health outcomes for vulnerable populations. They are the bridge between healthcare and the community, and we are endlessly grateful for their hard work,” said Laura Kallus.
As we celebrate National CHW Awareness Week, we call on the community to join us in recognizing and supporting the vital work of CHWs, who remain steadfast in their commitment to improving the lives of those they serve.
